hesed (pronounced "hess" plus "ed" like in "education")
is a Hebrew word meaning God's steadfast mercy, which is always gracious and never failing. God is always faithful. As we read through the Bible,
we see God's hesed everywhere we look! This Sunday School Curriculum is intended to walk our students through the Bible noticing as we go the
goodness of God!
About the Narrative Lectionary
A lectionary is simply the word for a group of readings. Many Christian churches use a lectionary rotation for choosing which Scripture passages are
read in church on Sunday morning. Our church is currently using the Narrative Lectionary. This Sunday School curriculum is written to go hand-in-
hand with the worship text for the Narrative Lectionary. You can find out more about the Narrative Lectionary here.
